Jonathan is the lead physiotherapist at JB Physiotherapy St Annes. He has a wealth of clinical experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy and holds both a BSc in Physiotherapy, MSc in Manual Therapy and a PG Cert in MSK First Contact Practitioner.
Since graduating in 2005, Jonathan has worked in the NHS and with various professional sports clubs. He has worked for both Tottenham Hotspurs FC delivering physiotherapy to elite professional athletes and in the Ministry of Defence - specifically with the world renowned Parachute Regiment. Jonathan is part of a specialist group of around only 1200 musculoskeletal physiotherapists worldwide to hold MACP status. This signifies he possess advanced practitioner status in the assessment and treatment of Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedic and Sports Injuries. He has recently completed his PG Certificate in First contact practitioner (FCP) meaning he is at the top level of practice (Masters Level) when assessing and diagnosing undiagnosed MSK presentations.
Jonathan applies a very 'hands-on' approach and uses this in combination with specific evidence based rehabilitation techniques. He is an advocate of prevention and passionate about helping patients to reduce their symptoms, therefore keen to help patients enhance their overall wellbeing. Jonathan believes everyone should receive the same level of expertise and clinical commitment afforded to the professional sports person, whatever level of activity or sports participation.
Jonathan has an interest in lower limb injuries but a special interest in hip and groin pain / pathologies. He is always pushing himself ensuring he is at the forefront of rehabilitation techniques so his patients are achieving their rehab goals following injury. Furthermore he has a passion for delivering superb post operative orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation with a specific interest in knee, ankle and shoulder.
